We are not all about stopping the installation of large turbines in unsuitable places that harm the environment. Our wider objective has always been Protecting the Environment from Inappropriate Development. A change in government policy has largely reduced the number of applications for large on-shore Wind Turbines – although this policy could change once more so we will continue to be vigilant!
We have a number of current campaigns including:
- Proposing an extension to the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
- Concerns about the proposal to extend Greystone Quarry.
- Monitoring the new Class Q Planning laws and their impact.
We will update you on these campaigns over the next few days.
We are Back!
Apologies for the lack of posts in recent times. We have been adjusting to the loss of David Gynn who has moved out of the area. David was our treasurer/secretary/webmaster and he is sorely missed.
But now we are up and running again on the website. We have been continuing our campaigns to ‘Protect the Environment of West Devon’ and we will update you over the next few days with more posts.
We would like to make all Mabrake members aware of a planning application to extend Greystone Quarry.
This development would mean the extension of the Quarry into the Tamar Valley AONB.
It would also result in the loss of the back road that connects Greystone Bridge with the Callington road.
If members wish to comment on this application then it is on the Cornwall County Planning site and the application number wis PA16/10746. The link is
