  1. Tredown Wind Turbines (11993/2008 & 01640/2011)

No activity has been noted at the site.

  1. 2.       Tredown pre-application presentation for two large wind turbines.

Murex has finally replied to our letter and confirmed that although no final decisions have been made on the two sites it is likely that planning applications will be submitted some time during the coming year. We therefore need to keep up our guard and continue to raise money to fight the applications when they are submitted.

  1. 3.       Proposal for a Solar Farm for Kelly.

A Parish meeting was held at the Kelly Hall, Meadwell Hall to discuss this issue and it was agreed that the Parish Clerk would write to Lightsource Renewable Energy to request a presentation on the proposal so that several queries could be resolved. Lightsource have now replied to say they would be pleased to attend and the Hall at Meadwell has been booked for this meeting on Thursday 26th April at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Lightsource Renewable has now submitted a full Planning Application with the West Devon Borough Council. Any representations must be submitted to WDBC by the 10th May 2012. WDBC has written to all house owners in Kelly and Meadwell advising them of this application

It is interesting to note that in Lightsource Renewables covering letter to WDBC they indicate that this Solar Farm must be completed and connected to the grid by 1st July 2012 in order to benefit from the current Government tariffs. The anticipated construction period quoted in the application is 4 to 8 weeks so it would appear that they will have their work cut out to achieve this!

  1. 4.       Bradstone Coombe Open Garden.

Gary and Kay Vanstone have kindly offered to open their beautiful garden to the public on Sunday the 17th June 2012 from 11am to 5pm with all proceeds going towards the Mabrake Fighting Fund. Lunches, Cream Teas etc. will be available.  If you haven’t visited this Garden then this is the time to do so, so please make a note in your diaries of the date.  More details will follow in the next Newsletter.
