A Large Wind Turbine approved for Pennygillam Industrial Estate!

According to the latest Cornish and Devon Post, a 77m Wind Turbine has been approved by Cornwall County Council for erection on the car park adjoining the Night Club at the Pennygillam Industrial Estate in Launceston.

This application, according to the Cornish and Devon Post, somehow has gone through without the majority of the adjoining business sites at Pennygillam being made aware of the proposal. Cornwall County Councils reply to this is that letters were sent out but may have been addressed to the Occupier or even to the previous owner/occupier of the site!

Once again gain a Council has pushed through an application as quickly as possible and avoided the holding of a public meeting to discuss such a major blot on the landscape. If such a meeting had been held this application would certainly have had to go to an Appeal and the Inspector would have had to take into account Mr Pickles recent comments on the Public now having a say in such matters.
