Clean Earth Energy held a public consultation at the Launceston Guild Hall on the 6th February to discuss the erection of a 77m high wind turbine at Scarne Farm (PL15 9LR).
This will be a ENT 500kW turbine and will be located roughly 1 km from existing residential housing on the southern edge of Launceston
This like the one at Lifton Farm Shop will be very visible from a large surrounding area.
As far as we are aware no application has yet been submitted.
Although not strictly within our area of concern I feel I should point out to readers that Lifton Farm Shop (Strawberry Fields) have submitted a planning application to replace their existing small wind turbine with a much larger version, a EWT DW54 (500kW) turbine which will have a 77m to tip height).
As you can imagine a wind turbine of this size will totally over power the surrounding countryside being some three times bigger than the existing one.

This would seem to indicate that the nuts were ripped of the threaded bars in the base of the tower presumably because the threads were not cut properly. (Any good engineer will tell you Metric nuts/bolts are rubbish anyway!!)
