Beckwell Statutory Appeal

We have mentioned before that Julia Martin has made a statutory appeal against the Beckwell Wind Turbine, located on the edge of Ramsdown hill, and the hearing will be coming up shortly in the High Court.

The outcome will affect all of us in the West Devon area and Julia has printed and is distributing a leaflet to let everyone in the local area know what the current position is and at the same time asking for financial support. I’m sure you are all aware that making a Statutory Appeal is not an inexpensive process!

Please, if you have already not done so, support Julia. The full details can be found on the leaflet which can be downloaded here:- Beckwell Flier

Intermittency of UK Wind Power Generation 2013 and 2014 | Wind Energy Impacts and Issues

Summary: There is no case for a continued increase in the number of wind turbines connected to the Grid, or for the associated subsidies for wind energy, since this is an ineffective route to lower carbon dioxide emissions.

Thank you from the Longcross Action Group.

Hello everybody,

This is just a short note to say thanks to you for writing in to W.D.B.C. to oppose the wind turbine application at Cardwell Farm. Without your help and support the result could have been very different. As a small hamlet we had to rely on your support and you came through, all of us are grateful to you for taking the time and effort to do this. It goes to show that by working together we can achieve things and with organisations like Mabrake to help us along we can be a force to be reckoned with. Our thanks to you all once again and if friends and family wrote in but do not look at the Mabrake site please pass our thanks to them too.

Andy Harrap on behalf of Longcross Action Group.
